Born as an Armenian native in Gyumri, Armenia and raised in Los Angeles, California, Hakob Harutyunyan was brought up in a scientific/creative household. Since the early 2000s, he showed promise in mathematics, chess, and in the hard sciences. This all led to the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the California State University of Los Angeles in 2015. Full of excitement and innovative drive, Hakob went right into the graduate program in Math at Cal State LA, with an expected graduation date of 2017. Alongside being a graduate student, he has taught at the university for three consecutive quarters. Starting in the Fall of 2016, he will work as a full-time math teacher in AGBU Manoogian-Demerdjian School. As a young Armenian full of excitement and intriguing ideas about the advancement of our youth, he stands in the forefront of innovative solutions to the bigger problems of the world of mathematics.
