On Monday, DHS scholars and parents attended a presentation by Officer Tang to discuss social media & substance use. It is required that all 6th through 12th grade students attend any ONE of the three offered sessions with at least one parent/guardian: Thursday, August 27 at 7:00 pm or Friday, August 28 at 7:00 pm.
Research shows that school substance use prevention programs are effective when content is focused on social influences, knowledge, drug refusal skills and proper social media usage. Bringing in prevention programs will help our students make the correct choice(s) when using social media or faced with controlled substances.
We look forward to seeing you at one of the three evenings. Please be sure to check-in upon arrival to receive credit for attending.
