Mission
Our mission at Manoogian-Demirdjian School is the following:
1. To prepare students to succeed in the 21st century by offering a rigorous, comprehensive, college-preparatory curriculum and a variety of co-educational and extra-curricular programs that fulfill the needs of all students;
2. Foster the skills, attitudes, and character traits essential for life-long learners in a technological, multicultural, global society;
3. Preserve the 3000 year-old culture and identity of the Armenian people by teaching the Armenian language, literature, and history.
Through the open interaction between the school and home, students are supported, challenged, and encouraged to achieve their highest potential, and to become responsible citizens and productive members of society.
Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLR)
Students graduating from AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School will achieve the following Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs):
I. Become skilled learners and independent thinkers who:
• Are capable of analyzing and synthesizing information from multiple sources;
• Are able to apply critical thinking skills and problem solving procedures in school and real life situations;
• Demonstrate effective communication skills through different modes of expression including verbal, written, artistic, and technological languages.
II. Become academically capable individuals who:
• Have acquired a strong knowledge base in all disciplines offered at school;
• Have the ability to implement technology in all facets of their education;
• Have developed sound study habits and self-discipline;
• Are prepared to meet the rigors of higher education.
III. Become students aware of their Armenian background who:
• Have acquired a basic knowledge of Armenian language, literature and history;
• Have a sense of identity and pride in their Armenian cultural heritage;
• Are prepared to participate in Armenian community life and have a sense of responsibility to their homeland, Armenia.
IV. Become socially developed individuals who:
• Are aware of civic responsibilities and democratic principles;
• Contribute to improve the quality of life for themselves, family, school, society, and the environment;
• Demonstrate healthy competitiveness and collaborative work habits;
• Are well-rounded personally and socially.
V. Become productive future citizens who:
• Are able to apply moral and ethical values in their lives;
• Demonstrate work ethics, self-discipline, applied knowledge, and positive character traits in everyday life;
• Are tolerant and broad-minded regarding individual and cultural differences;
• Are prepared to contribute to the betterment of American society.
