Shoe Drive Update

The Helping People Through the Arts Club and Student Council are proud to have hosted a shoe drive for the children at Orran in Yerevan. Club presidents Lilia and Alexandra Yaralian volunteered their last year and realized that the children wore old and almost unwearable shoes everyday, which led them to planning and organizing a shoe drive with the help of the Student Cabinet. For the past two months, large bins have been placed around campus for students to donate to this worthy cause. Thanks to the student body, approximately 200 pairs of shoes have been collected. Members of the club have carefully selected a pair of new, protective shoes for each child. The 10th graders going to Armenia in the summer, along with 11th grade interns, will personally deliver the shoes.
